With the Mourne Mountains on one side and the Irish sea on the other it is possible to enjoy a morning stroll on the beach before spending the afternoon exploring the mountains - with a break in between for lunch in nearby Newcastle or Annalong. Shepherds Rest Holiday Cottage itself is over 200 years old and although fully modernised it still retains the charm typical of traditional Mourne cottages. Heating and warm water is supplied in part by our Solar Energy system.

We are pet friendly due to the holiday cottages location (on a private road), and its enclosed front garden, so we welcome visitors with pets and also provide a Barbeque for those wishing to dine Al Fresco!
